Quadrotor, Kits and Parts, Drones For All Tastes and Budgets

I already wrote many articles about the Parrot AR. Drone and the DIY Arducopter, but it would not be fair to ignore all the other solutions existing in this market which seems to grow fast. True that these drones are quite amazing "toys".

The Draganflyer V Ti R/C Quadrotor is just 30 inches in diameter with an ultra-lightweight carbon-fiber body and stylish lines. This DranganFlyer uses a heading-lock yaw gyro which helps simplify flight in all conditionsand gives you complete control over yaw, pitch, and roll - full aerial maneuverability - using a patented control board (proprietary)
     

       
The Draganflyer V Ti's can be equipped with an optional wireless color video system to capture video. This drone comes with an infrared stabilizers will automatically restore a stable hover within half a second. Thermal Intelligence eliminates most of the dangers and provides both safety and fun while training and flying. If you run low on batteries, the innovative electronic control system prevents battery over-discharge by limiting available power. Lose transmitter signal, It will descend safely and autonomously. Incorporated into each Draganflyer V Ti's patented control board are four infrared heat sensors and three state-of-the-art piezo gyros.

GAUI 330X-S and 450X Quad Flyer
The Gaui 330X-S quad flyer is an UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) design that uses a quad rotor configuration for extremely stable flight characteristics. it has been designed as a platform for aerial photography. Attach your camera to the 330X-S and start creating images, or recording footage.

XAircraft X650 is a remote control four rotor mini helicopter delivered either with a glass-fiber or a carbon-fiber frame . It Supports 13 sensors as flight attitude, height, direction, position (XAircraft GPS Module-Require additional purchase), temperature, and power consumption. MikroKopter.de offers "all you can imagine" related to quadrotor. Frames,  controllers, motors, accessories, sensors, and a very active community related to QuadRotor. Prices' Kits range from 700.00 to 1900.00 €. But all parts can be bought separately.

AeroQuad, Another Open Source QuadRotor 
This kits is another DIY kits which offers different choices for each parts. The frame is standard, but the controller, the motors and propellers can be choosen between different options. But what is particular with this quadrotor is the fact that the basic  version uses a simple Arduino Uno as controller, the ''advanced'' option is based on a Arduino MegaLike the ArduCopter, a very active community exchange information, tips and tricks about the AeroQuad. The AeroQuad wiki and forum are really informative. Another site you should consult if you have interest in QuadRotor.

Other Frame.

Conclusion
Do not jump on the first thing you see. Search and compare, there are plenty of solutions. Not all of them are listed here and remember, the more your solution is opened, the more you will be able to reuse components from one quadrotor to the next one, which can be a really cost-saver.
